Festival Season Is Finally Here, You Can Never Be Too Prepared
It’s that time of the year when all the fun, sunshiny activities happened. We’re in the last week of spring, and quickly cruising into the silly season. With all the fun times ahead of everyone, as much pre-planning as possible makes being ready for a packed schedule of back-to-back festivals, or however you plan your summer with our Tips For The Summer Festival Season. Your Festival Season just got a lot simpler! We are going to stream-line a checklist of tips. You can quickly check off well before the event.
Make A Schedule For Yourself…
More often than not, festivals will drop set times for their line-ups. Make the wristband worth it by making sure not to miss the artist you saved up to see, and list the set times in your Notes app or a small notepad you can carry in your bag. Trust, when service sucks and you can’t load the schedule, having the game plan written down can keep you flowing from set to set.
Love Your Ears, Bring Earplugs.
This might sound like a random tip, but when it comes to festivals, you can never really predict where by the stage you’ll end up. And sometimes, that means right against the speaker just to get the best view. Don’t let the dream experience be ruined by blasted eardrums–pocket some convenience-store earplugs just to be safe, or go all in and get a proper pair of decent ones, you can buy a great pair that you can keep in your rave bag at all times! These will save on waste. Check this article on wired about the 9 best earplugs on the market at the moment – https://www.wired.com/gallery/best-earplugs/
If You Can, Bring A Friend.
Going to things as a crew can be a lot more fun, you can pool your camping resources together to create a great space as a temporary pirate nest. When there is more vehicles in a space there is more opportunity to stretch tarps for shade, combine gazebos, combine decorations, do team costumes, the things friends can achieve together during the length of a festival can be pretty incredible
Being sunscreen
Anywhere you are out in the open you are susceptible to sunburn, especially in sunny New Zealand. Festivals can be really dangerous, as people are drinking, occasionally dehydrated, dancing for long periods of time. Bring as much forms of sun protection as you can. Gazebos and tarps and beach umbrellas for the camp. Sunhats, long, light weight garments for the most scorching days. Another tip- get a good decorative sunbrella! And of course a good sunscreen for your skin. Melanoma is no joke
Use An Easily Searchable Bag
Another time saving tip- If you are heading to an event where they sell liquor and your stuff may be searched, bring a small, or clear backpack or handbag to expedite the search and get inside the party faster. Some festival sites don’t allow glass – so have all your drinks in one place in your vehicle. So they can easily be checked by site security.
Download All Tickets Beforehand
More often than not, there won’t be reception on festival sites. Waiting in a long cue to get through the gates. Only to be turned away to go find reception. And download your ticket all over again is never fun. Be prepared! If your ID is required on entry, have that ready, don’t hold up the line!
