The deep frequency swept me into its rhythm, each sweet harmony lifting me higher into transcendence and bliss, until nothing remained but the music. In that moment, I was free.
There are some events you go to, and some events you feel. Like every AUM gathering before it, the AUM Winter Series #2, on Friday 25th September 2026, fell firmly into the second category. From the moment we stepped through the doors of that dark and sparkly warehouse, we knew we were in for something special.
The People Make The Party
What sets AUM apart has always been its community, and this night was no exception. Egos were left at the door and replaced with open hearts, big hugs and genuine connection. Strangers became friends in the space of a single track. Gifts of handmade jewellery passed from hand to hand, faux fur flowed in every colour imaginable, and the room sparkled with glittering makeup. A shimmering soul drifted through the crowd like a festival fairy, gifting delicate temporary tattoos to anyone who crossed her path. Somewhere in the middle of it all, a beautiful woman on the dance floor pressed a little dragonfly totem into my hand. It’s a small treasure, but it holds the whole spirit of the night, and it will be coming with me to every event from now on
Every conversation seemed to end in laughter or a smile, and that kind of energy is contagious. Our little Ravercorn came along for the adventure and was quickly adopted by the crowd, making plenty of new friends and collecting more than a few hugs and pets along the way.
The Host With The Most
A special mention has to go to John Paul Moss, who once again proved why he is the heart of the AUM whānau. His calm demeanour, thoughtful care and clear direction of the crew set the tone for the whole night. Everyone felt welcome, safe and looked after, and that sense of care flows all the way through the community he has helped build.
Morten Granau: A Journey From The First Beat
I don’t know what it is about the Danes, but they bring a unique and wonderfully positive attitude to the decks and to any party they’re part of. Just like Phaxe (SoundCloud) a few months back, Morten Granau (SoundCloud) carried that energy through every moment of his set. He threw us straight into a deep psychedelic frequency and never let go, building layer upon layer of rolling basslines and soaring melodies that pulled the whole room into one collective groove.
What made it truly magical was the way the music and the visuals seemed to breathe together. The light show morphed with every build and drop, creating a fully immersive experience where sound, light and movement became one. Looking around the room, you could see it on everyone’s faces: eyes closed, arms raised, completely lost in the moment.
It is also worth pausing to appreciate what it means for an artist to travel all the way to the end of the world to play for us here in Aotearoa. That effort was felt, and the crowd gave every ounce of love back.
A Stellar Supporting Line-Up
The local talent absolutely held their own. VYXN, Ferksta and Sharkra each brought their own flavour to the night, keeping the vibe elevated, the dance floor moving and the smiles wide from start to finish. It is always inspiring to see homegrown performers sharing the stage with international guests and proving just how much talent we have right here at home.
Why One Night Can Be Just As Special
Four-day festivals are epic, and we love them dearly. But there is something uniquely powerful about a single night that brings together a talented crew, a world-class headliner and a community who shows up with open hearts. There is no need to pace yourself, no campsite to get back to, just pure presence on the dance floor. Short, sweet and a night we will remember forever.
Thank You To The Crew Behind The Magic
Events like this never happen by accident. Behind every perfect moment is a team of people working hard to make it all come together, and they deserve a huge round of applause.
To the sound team, thank you for a mix that hit both the body and the soul. Every kick, every bassline and every little detail came through crystal clear. You rocked it!
To the laser technicians, thank you for slicing through the darkness with beams that danced perfectly in time with the music.
To the lighting technicians, thank you for painting the warehouse in colour and creating an atmosphere that shifted and evolved all night long.
To the projections artist, thank you for the mind-bending visuals that transported us to other realms and gave the room its dreamlike glow.
To Cosmic Weave, thank you for your mesmerising fire performances. (When the rain settled) Watching flames spin and flow to the rhythm of psy was pure hypnotic beauty.
And to the security team, thank you for keeping everyone safe with such a friendly and respectful presence. Because of you, we could let go and simply enjoy the night.
Looking To The Future
Music and art are evolution, and it has been a genuine joy watching AUM grow, adapt and flourish over the years. Every event feels like a new chapter in a story we are all writing together.
]At Ravers Co, we are already shaking with excitement for the next show and, of course, AUM New Year’s 26/27. If this night was anything to go by, it is going to be unforgettable.
Let’s keep this magic alive, because who knows what the future will bring.
See you on the dance floor! 🦄✨
