Monarch Frequency Mesh Flares
Every Kiwi kid grew up watching a caterpillar disappear into a chrysalis on the swan plant. This is the bit that happens next.
The Monarch Frequency Mesh Flares are high-waisted sheer stretch mesh, printed edge to edge with a butterfly wing that spreads across both legs. Fluorescent lime and chartreuse wing cells, hard black vein linework radiating out from the waist, then the whole thing melts down through gold and burnt orange into hot magenta at the hem. The bottom edge is cut in a scalloped wing tip, so every step you take does the thing. You know the thing.
The flare breaks at the knee and goes properly wide from there, which is the entire point. Stand still and they read as a graphic print. Move, and they open up into a full wingspan.
They’re sheer, they’re stretchy, and they weigh next to nothing, which makes them a genuinely smart call for a Kiwi summer festival. No sweating through a set in something heavy. Air moves straight through them.

How to wear them
Keep the top half simple and let the legs run the show. Plain white cropped singlet, fluro mesh tee, chunky platform boots, done. The boots matter more than you’d think, since the flare needs a bit of height to skim the floor instead of dragging through the mud.
From there, the LED Faux Fur Coat over the top for when it drops below fifteen degrees at 2am, and the LED Glow Hoops if you want the flare and the hoops moving together. Mesh is sheer by nature, so most people wear these over seamless bike shorts, which disappears completely under the print.
Sizing
Mesh has plenty of stretch, which is great news for comfort and slightly annoying news for picking a size off a chart. So use our sizing tool before you check out. It takes about a minute and it will tell you exactly which size to grab based on your actual measurements, not a guess.
We build every one of these to be worn hard for a whole weekend, and the only thing that ruins that is the wrong size showing up in the post. If anything about the fit is still unclear after the tool, flick us a message and we’ll sort it before we dispatch. We’d genuinely rather have that conversation now than send you something that doesn’t sit right.
Care
Cold hand wash, hang to dry, keep them out of the dryer and away from direct heat. The print stays vivid for years if you treat the mesh gently. No ironing, ever.
