Check out these Clever Ways to Keep Your Valuables Safe at Festivals!
Festival Storage
Many festivals these days offer lockers for your valuables. These lockers are well worth the extra dollars if you have items you need to keep safe. Event organisers who’s events don’t have lockers that can be rented out should take heed of this. As festivals have become more popular, unfortunately the stories of people loosing important items are more common than ever. There is also a much larger cohort of people traveling and attending multiple festivals around the word consecutively. These people need a safe space to store their valuables. Keep in mind many people get off the plane and head straight for the festival grounds.
People will take advantage of a paid locker system to keep valuables safe at festivals. Most of us are of the opinion that we don’t need a specific stash device to protect our valuables. This is probably the approach most of us take, to varying degree’s of security. The huge range of techniques people use to keep their valued possessions is interesting. We did a survey of the Ravers Co team, and our closest festival buddies and these are the techniques they use. Letโs dive into some inventive methods to stash your cash, jewellery, and other essentials.
The Non Stash Device Method
Your stashing technique will depend largely on your requirements. What size are the items you want to stash? How important are they? Smaller items like passports are much easier to stash away than larger items like cameras. Your stashing technique will also depend on whether or not you will be in the vicinity of the tent, or if you’re heading to the dancefloor. At night you can stash your items in a stash water bottle which you can find in our accessories collection. For added security put your stash water bottle at your feet in your sleeping bag.
The Water Bottle Diversion Stash
The water bottle diversion stash method involves using a stash water bottle which is an actual water bottle with a hidden compartment. Itโs inconspicuousโnobody will suspect your hydration vessel. In a pinch you can use an aluminium water bottle as your stash case for money, and rings and other valuables. Thermos flasks make great stash bottles, they also keep your valuables cool. Don’t forget the temperature inside your tent gets extreme, if it isn’t covered with a tarp, on a hot summers day. If you use any type of drink container as a stash bottle, keep it away from thirsty friends.
The Chilly Bin Method
So your heading to the dancefloor, it’s 11PM on New Years Eve, you wont be coming back for some time. You also wont be spending any more money, you don’t need your wallet, ID, wedding ring, etc. Stash it in your water bottle stash can, or in a Ziplock bag inside an old chip packet, and hide it in your chilly bin! This is a very good method to keep valuables safe at festivals.
Deodorant Stash Container
Get a stick of roll on deodorant before your next festival, and wind it out completely, and cut three quarters of the stick off, and put the small bit back in the deodorant stick holder. You can put the large piece you cut off into a bag for after the festival. Now you’ve got a deodorant stash can you can store in your bag with your clothing. Just make sure you put your valuables into a bag before putting it into the deodorant container, or you may regret the odour. This works very well with both men’s and woman’s deodorant.
Conclusion
Stash cans are your festival allies. Stay safe, dance freely, and enjoy the beats without worrying about your valuables. Creativity knows no bounds. Feel free to invent your own unique stash methodsโmaybe a sunscreen bottle with a secret compartment or a glow stick that doubles as a cash holder.
